CAC tracking software
What did this customer actually cost to win?
CAC is only real if one system holds the spend, the conversation and the order. Modus does — ad spend from the network API, the WhatsApp conversation, the lead score and the closed order in one record — so cost per paying customer is a tile and a column, not a spreadsheet someone rebuilds each month.
- Cost per paying customer, per ad and per campaign
- CAC and ROAS from spend and closed orders, not estimates
- The blended number and the per-channel number in one place
Today
What it looks like right now.
CAC is a monthly spreadsheet: total spend over deals closed, with no way to see which ad drove which deal.
Marketing quotes cost per lead, finance quotes cost per customer, and the two never reconcile.
Spend sits in three ad platforms and revenue sits in the order system, joined by hand if at all.
By the time the CAC number exists, the month it describes is over and the budget is spent.
Where the money went
Same month, same spend, two very different customers.
Two campaigns, the cost per lead each platform reports, and the cost per paying customer Modus computes because spend and orders sit in one record. Figures are illustrative.

The agent
What it does on every enquiry.
Spend from the source
Read-only spend is pulled from the Meta, Google and OpenAI Ads APIs — not typed in, not estimated.
Order-level join
Every closed order carries the ad that produced its lead, so CAC is computed per ad, not just blended.
CAC as a first-class metric
Cost per paying customer is a dashboard tile and a pipeline column, updated as orders close — no month-end rebuild.
Blended and per-channel
See the whole-business CAC and the per-network breakdown side by side, on the same definition.
In practice
How it runs.
- 01
Connect spend and orders
Ad accounts read-only; orders flow in from the inbox, the board, the API or a CSV import.
- 02
Leads carry their ad
First-touch ad and network on every lead, preserved through the pipeline.
- 03
CAC updates as deals close
Each recorded sale re-derives cost per paying customer for its ad and for the business.
Questions we get asked
How is CAC calculated here?
Read-only spend from the ad network APIs, divided by the paying customers whose leads carry that ad. Because the ad id is on the lead and the order, it is computed per ad and per campaign, then rolled up — not a single blended fraction.
Does it include non-ad costs?
It measures ad-driven CAC — the spend the network reports against the customers it produced. Fully-loaded CAC with salaries and tooling is a finance exercise on top; Modus gives you the paid-acquisition half accurately.
How do orders get into Modus?
Four ways, all through one write path: the inbox "Record sale" action, the Orders board, the REST API, and an order-history CSV import. However it arrives, the contact's value and pipeline stage are re-derived from it.
Can I see CAC before a campaign finishes?
Yes. Spend and orders both update continuously, so the tile reflects where a campaign stands now — not a figure you assemble after the budget is gone.
